This work was created in December 2014. During the winter months, especially during the holiday season, she is always inspired by stars, galaxies, and the night sky. She was looking at a lot of"astrophotography". Colleen thought how cool it would be if we could see these galaxies from Earth when we looked up at the sky, and that became an interesting idea for the piece. I imagined what it would be like to surf in Hawaii under a beautiful night sky. She wanted the girl in her art to be strong yet feminine, and to look like she was having fun. And I drew it so that the surroundings naturally fit with the girl.
